The Lomandra Grasses are a unique installation comissioned by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) for the new Penny Lane precinct of their Haymarket, Sydney campus.
Based on the Lomandra native Australian grass, our design features twenty one unique, handmade light fittings that bathe a new laneway space within the University in a beautiful, ever changing array of colours and patterns. The artwork makes particular use of the vertical space in addition to the reflections from adjacent buildings to increase the sense of space within the narrow laneway.
The Lomandra Grasses are also available for hire as part of Mandylights' touring light artwork catalogue.
