We were absolutely thrilled to have been asked by Pete Clements to put together a production design for the Thundercat European tour. The largest show on the tour was inside the iconic O2 Academy Brixton and required something a bit special which was to be a true spectacle. With only 3 members in the band, we focused the design on elevating them 2m above the stage floor and surrounding them with lighting and scenic elements. We deployed 2 12m x7m spaghetti string drapes from Showtex, one in front of the band and 1 behind which created a boxed in look to the stage. Projecting light and custom gobo shapes through the drapes from the rear allowed us to create stunning silhouette moments. The 2m high staging platform from All Access Staging UK was surrounded by linear LED Sceptron tubes and was semi transparent which allowed us to project beams through the staging and underneath the band which gave the illusion they were floating above the lights. We commissioned Siyan to provide all rigging, lighting and media servers and control was supplied by us in the way of our own grandMA 3 consoles.
